Natural Hair Terminology

When i first went natural i caught on to the natural hair terminology pretty quick. If i hadn't i would be lost in the mist of many conversation's that take place in the natural hair community.

Here i will place most of them here for you.

TWA- Teeny Weenie Afro, Short Fro, Beginning stages of the journey if you didn't transition
BAA- Big A** Afro
BBA- Big Beautiful Afro
CC- Creamy Crack... Also known as a relaxer
ACV- Apple cider vinegar, used to clarify and clean hair
GH- Green House Effect,  aimed to promoting growth via stimulation of the scalp. Apply oils or moisturizer of choice and cover hair with plastic cap or bag along with 1 or more scarves to create a steam effect for long periods of time.
JBCO- Jamaican black castor oil
EVOO- Extra virgin olive oil
EVCO- Extra virgin coconut oil
CO- Castor oil
APL- Arm pit length
TTO- Tea tree oil
IMO- In my opinion
HHG- Happy hair growing
WSL- Waist length hair
SLIP- How well a shampoo or conditioner allows you to detangle the hair
POO- Shampoo
PRE-POO- Coating the hair with an oil and allowing it to sit for a certain period of time before shampooing. Helps condition and prevent hair from being stripped of its natural oils from using shampoos that contain harsh ingredients.
NL- Neck length
BSS- Beauty supply store
CBL- Collar bone length
CLARIFYING- Removes build up
NG- New growth
MBL- Mid back length
CO WASH- Eliminating the use of shampoo. Using only conditioner's to wash hair.
DC- Deep conditioner
CL- Chin length

BC- Big chop
HL- Hip length
HIH- Hope it helps
EO- Essential oil
