L.O.C Method?
Hello love bugs. Aside from doing my GHE method to aid in hair growth and providing moisture to my hair, I recently came across a method that helps lock in moisture with the L.O.C method. After washing and detangling my hair i applied coconut oil and mizani true textures moisturizing leave in. I will explain both the GHE and L.O.C method just in case anyone is unfamiliar.
GHE- The Green House Effect is a method where you apply an oil of choice (I spray a little water and aloe vera juice on my hair also). You place a shower cap or plastic bag over your hair to lock in the moisture. This traps heat, creating a green house effect. More heat can be trapped by using a beanie hat or a scarf over the plastic cap. This method is used to aid in hair growth.
L.O.C.- This method is used to help lock moisture in the hair by applying a liquid based conditioner (water or a liquid leave in), Oil based conditioner (olive oil, coconut oil, etc), Cream based conditioner (EX.. Shea moisture smoothie) in that order. I hope this was informative enough ladies.
*I will keep you guys posted on how this L.O.C method is working for me.

My crown and Glory!
For those of you who may be my friend on Facebook im sure you've seen these posted yesterday. In these photo's my hair appears to be blown out, but in reality it just a chunky twist out. I'm so happy with the progress my hair is making. Who knows how long it actually is at this point! I don't plan on blowing my hair out or straightening my hair no time soon. I'm just going to let my hair do its own thing for now. -May 10.2011 is my hair-versary!

Why i went natural.
I remember as if it were yesterday when i was searching the web for a solution to my damaged hair. My hair seemed to grow but would not for the life of me get past neck length. For awhile i just assumed my hair would never grow long like it once used to be when i was 5-7. What a lie i fed myself! I honestly did not know how to maintain and keep up with my permed tresses. For years i would perm my hair and moisturize once and a blue moon. Not knowing i had to moisturize constantly so my hair wouldn't dry out because of the chemical relaxer. First glance of my hair people could tell off back my hair way unhealthy, dry, and brittle. Anyway i got fed up with it. I had thoughts and had daydreamed about my hair being longer than what it was. After long hours of searching the web for a solution to my problem i stumbled across websites like curlynikki and hair blogs like mine talking about natural hair and it's benefits. After researching and turning to YouTube i noticed and realized there was a whole other world when it came to hair. I was amazed to see this hair that had been so foreign yet so close to me for many years. It was beautiful in texture, different lengths, and style. I watched hundreds of YouTube video's, read plenty of blogs and subscribed to natural hair websites. I remember going to walmart to purchase my normal soft and beautiful relaxer. With kit in hand i put it back on the shelf and left the store. I had came to the realization that relaxers aka creamy crack was not for me anymore. I was going NAT-U-RAL!! I began the transition from relaxed to natural Feb.1.2011. During the time of transition i began to place doubt in my mind. I would think people wouldn't accept me or people would talk about me because of my hair. Even worse people wont think i'm beautiful. One thing i noticed was i was too concerned about was what PEOPLE would have to say. Who cares? I encouraged myself by reminding myself that i was doing this for ME and not PEOPLE of this society! I cut my relaxed ends after transitioning for only three months May.10.2011. Since then my hair has been healthier than ever and is growing at rapid speed. I love who i am Naturally. And loving the freedom that comes along with it. For any young woman who may be considering going natural i would say to you stay encouraged and dont worry about what others have to say. Do whats best for you.
Thank goodness i gave creamy crack up before it permed me bald like it has to many young women and children. Sad but true. Relaxers are not good for you or your health.
-When i would relax my hair i would get nauseated
-Headaches
-Painful sores and scabs in my head
-Hair broke off
I could not torture myself any longer just to have straight hair all because i thought it would flow in the wind like my Caucasian friends.

Hair Rules Hair Scare!!! Product Review
Today is my wash day and i decided to go ahead and use my Hair Rules Samples. Now for some reason before i used these products i was like i should use my regular conditioner. Why didn't i listen? -_- After using the hair rules cleansing cream and the conditioner i immediately noticed that certain parts of my hair were straightened. =[ I'm so freaked out right now. I'm forced to now trim my hair off in the sections that are not kinky nor curly and clip the ends that are straightened as well. I thought i was going to love these products but that was not the case. Guess this is the price you pay when wanting to experiment and try different products. I have two bottles of their styling creams that i refuse to try because of this. Thanks hair rules but no thanks.
1/5Kinks- Never shall i purchase any of these items!

100% Pure Cosmetics Product Review
The lotions scents- 2 packets of Cabernet grape, 2 packets of honey almond and 1 packet of green apple
I will not get into detail about the facial products because i have no intention none whatsoever in using the products. Reason being they are more for people who want to lighten their skin, rid dark circles around the eyes and a age protective. I have no use for these things. Maybe if i were a bit older or if i wore makeup i would. I plan on giving the products away in a future giveaway.
Anyway the very first lotion packets i decided to try were the Cabernet Grape nourishing body cream. First thing i noticed was the smell! I could smell the smell of grape long before i even could ripped my little packet open. The lotion is more of a creamy rich consistency infused with nothing but natural ingredients! Literally. After applying this cream my whole living room was lit up with the smell! It has been 3 hours since i used the product and i smell like i just applied the cream fresh out the shower! My skin has a glow to it and i feel rejuvenated and fresh!
---->>>The Green Apple Scent made me gag! Horrible smell!!! :/
I give this product 4/5 Kinks
Thank you 100% Pure Cosmetics! =]

Just Whip It!
Today out of curiosity i wanted to make a whipped butter for my hair. I took some raw Shea butter and melted it just a bit. After that i used coconut oil, olive oil, castor oil and some Aloe Vera Juice since i didn't have Aloe Vera gel. To my surprise after mixing in all the ingredients the Aloe Vera juice mixed in just fine. End result you might ask? My whipped butter came out perfect! It so nice and fluffy. The heat from my hands allows it to melt almost instantly! Im going to try this on my hair and see what happens. I plan on using this for my hair and body. I already tried some on my arms and hands. My skin feels soo soft!!! Go on and give this recipe a try. It's a win, win either way! ;)
Whipped Shea Butter
3tbs Shea butter
coconut oil- Did not measure- just eyeballed it
olive oil- Did not measure- just eyeballed it
castor oil- 4 drops
aloe Vera juice- 2 tbs
Heat your Shea butter so it's easier to work with when you mix it with all other ingredients.
Make sure you have a container to store your mixture. You do not have to put this in the freezer in order for it to solidifie. It will do that on its own over time.
Thanks for tuning in love bugs!

Curl's Product Review
Yesterday was a pretty adventurous day for me. I went fishing for the very first time. It was a very relaxing experience. Although i had fun and i enjoyed myself i did not enjoy sweating and having the stench of fish and nature all over. As soon as i got home i took down my up do hair style and washed my hair. I decided to use the samples Curls sent me a few weeks ago. In the package i received Pure Curls Clarifying Shampoo, CurliciousCurls Cleansing Cream, & Coconut Sublime Moisturizing Conditioner. I chose not to use the shampoo because my hair does not react well to many different shampoo's. And last night i just wasn't too interested in finding out how well my hair would react. However i used the cleansing cream and conditioner. These products smelled just like Coconut cheesecake to me. Delicious. Both products were very thick in consistency. The cleansing cream cleansed my scalp and didn't leave my hair feeling dried out or striped like regular shampoo's. The conditioner did a good job at doing just what it's supposed to.... CONDITION! Although i only had these products in sample sizes i did not fail in covering all of my hair with the products. A little goes a long way. I tend to use more conditioner because i detangle every wash. I will most definitely purchase more of these products and try more from the Curls Product Line!
Both of the products get 5/5 Kinks!
Thank you Curls Natural Hair Care!

Hair Love
I never knew i could love my hair as much as i do now. Back when i was relaxed i didn't care about proper hair care or showing my hair love. All i wanted was for the "Naps" to disappear. I was a "Creamy Crack Junkie". My hair was extremely damaged, dry, dandruff problem out of this world. My hair was growing but i could never retain the length due to split ends and I'm gonna be completely honest... I was plain out ignorant when it came to caring for my hair. Eventually i got fed up with my short damaged relaxed hair. After searching the web and researching how to grow long healthy hair is when i realized relaxed or natural you have to care for and love your tresses. YouTube videos helped motivate me in my decision to go natural. I chose to go natural to promote healthy hair growth and because i wanted my naturally curly hair! Ever since i made the decision to go natural i haven't had the slightest urge to go back to relaxers. I tend to my tresses once a week making sure it's washed and conditioned as well as making sure i do all i can to maintain and keep the length i gain. Just about every other day if not everyday I'm constantly online learning new things about my hair. I can truly say i love my hair! Love your hair and it will truly love you back ;)

JCS Product Review #2
Leave in Conditioner- This conditioner is a water based leave in. I sprayed a little in my hands and rubbed them together to see how it felt. It felt as if it was infused with oils just like it says. so i did not hesitate using this. I used my own home made leave in along with this one to get a better feel of moisture. I did not feel like my hair was moisturized with the JCS leave in alone. I also used this to de-tangle my hair. Great smell but i don't care for it.
Nourish & Shine- I followed up by using this product after i de-tangled my hair with the leave in. I love how this product smoothed on my hair with no problems. My hair feels soft and it looks shiny. Im enjoying the way my hair smells because of these products. This product can be used not only for hair but for your body as well. Two in one.. Cant beat it.
Leave in Conditioner- 3/5 Kinks Its ok. Not wowed
Nourish & Shine- 5/5 Kinks Worth purchasing again

Jane Carter Solutions Product Reveiw.
Nourishing shampoo: The shampoo had a nice thick consistency to it. I could tell almost immediately that this product was removing dirt and build up off my hair and scalp as i saw the suds falling in the tub. It has been a year since i shampooed my hair until now. I personally don't like the feeling shampoo tends to feel when I'm handling my hair during the wash process. With that being said this product is awesome but i will not be using this product in the future.
Replenishing Conditioner: I love conditioners!! Point blank period. This conditioner had a very nice feel to it. It was nice and lightweight with a nice thick consistency as well. I had to add some of my own conditioner in order to condition my whole head {That's only due to the sample size}. However the areas that were covered by JCS i was pleased with the way it left my hair feeling nice, soft and smooth. I even have some added shine to my hair as well. Based on my experience with this product i will be purchasing more of this conditioner as well as trying out more of JCS' products.
FYI these products leave a lingering scent of freshly washed hair. In my opinion these products have a flower scent. Awesome!!! I love it. Thank you Jane Carter Solutions!

ACV
Apple cider vinegar helps balance the pH in your hair. If your looking for something other than shampoo to cleanse your scalp try this out. I use this acv rinse once a month or every other month. This product helps remove product build up from products you may have used styling your hair. Acv leaves the hair and scalp squeaky clean as well as leaving your hair with shine and softness. This a very inexpensive product with great results. I shampoo and condition after i do the acv rinse because i can't stand the smell. Be sure to mix you acv with water before you do your rinse
Recommended- 1Tbs of ACV in 1cup of water.

Excuse you?!?
Natural Hair Daily Spritzer
Do you keep a spritz bottle handy to hydrate and moisturize your beautiful strands? I know i do. If you would like to try it for yourself the only things you will need are oils of your choice, water, Avj, and a spray bottle. Mix your oils, water and avj in your spritz bottle, shake it up and spray directly to your hair or in your hands to apply. This simple spritz can be used daily and or after you shampoo and condition your hair as a leave in conditioner. I use Olive oil and Castor oil in my concoction.
*Lets Talk About Great Hair Oils
Hello beauties at this moment i will share with you four different oils i use in my hair care regimen faithfully. There are more than four oils for hair out there but these are the four i like to use. Lets get started shall we?
Tea Tree oil
Castor oil
Extra Virgin Coconut oil
Olive oil
*Tea tree oil is great for those who have dandruff problems. This oil has anti fungal properties. Therefore giving it the ability to kill off bacteria on the skin and scalp.
*Castor oil is used as a laxative. But did you know it's great for your hair as well? Yes girl your hair! For those who have concerns about those thinning edges Castor oil is the answer. This oil is used as a hair growth oil. A little castor oil goes a long way so try not to be so liberal when using. Too much will lead to dry, crunchy, unruly hair. When used correct castor oil can benefit your hair in more ways than one. It thickens hair as well as moisturizes hair and scalp. Castor oil boost's the overall health of your hair ladies.
*Extra Virgin Coconut oil has anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties. It is very light and absorbs well into the skin and scalp. This oil is a solid oil so you would have to heat the oil before use or allow the he from your hands melt it. Coconut oil is a great natural conditioner for the hair. It also gives the hair a great shine.
*Olive oil is a great oil for damaged hair that has been exposed to heat damage, brittle split ends etc. This oil can help restore your hairs health as well as strengthen it.
I hope this information was helpful. My hair is healthy, strong and shiny thanks to these oils.
